Positive Role Model Assignment
We have discussed throughout our course how leading by example plays a major part in the development of children. The way we model how to choose right from wrong (morally), taking care of our physical and mental bodies (physically), completing our assignments on time in order to empower ourselves with knowledge (intellectually), how to self-regulate/self-monitor our actions so we can be productive and make decisions (emotionally), and how to behave appropriately in social situations (socially). These are the areas we develop throughout our lives but especially as young children.
Our parents, caregivers, teachers, religious figures, friends, community and others help us to become positive role models. Becoming a positive role model should be something we are all conscious of doing. For this assignment you will tell us how you are a positive role model in your life today and how by doing so, will help with the development of children.
ASSIGNMENT - this is a two part assignment (see Voki/Blog directions)
First you will create a Voki, which is a digital avitar. Your Voki will state how you are a positive role model in your life today. What is it that makes you a positive role model for yourself as well as for others. This could be something you do in school or out of school. You only have 45 seconds to complete your statement. Make sure you are clear and to the point.
Your statement must begin with; I am a positive role model because I ........
Next you will post your Voki onto our classroom blog. Along with your Voki you will add a post that will answer these questions;
